O Holy Night

It's Thursday and the last Thursday in November already!!!

Can you say full out Christmas card making mode anyone!?!

My mom loves the Nativity scenes. Whether it is ceramic, wooden, a picture - a nativity scene is her favourite thing at Christmas.........well that and snowmen but the nativity scene is her all time fav.

When I saw the "Let Us Adore Him" stamp from High Hopes Stamps I knew it would be perfect for her Christmas card along with the O Holy Night sentiment.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and since I had my cuticle scissors out from my card yesterday I decided to fussy cut this one too - I was on a roll after all lol. I grabbed my ink blending supplies and created my background.
Something new for me - I also played with the new Nuvo Crystal Drops. You can use them to fill in areas or to make your own enamel dots. Note - make your enamel dots on something other then your card - if you mess them up putting them directly on the card ......well let's just say, mine aren't perfect but they are okay. I also used these drops to add some stars to the sky - a few are a little larger then I would like but I like the effect. Nuvo drops were also added to the star from the Shepard's Awe stamp also from High Hopes Stamps.

Herald Angel

"Hark, the Herald Angels sing..."

I just love this Christmas song! Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I would like to show you my project with leftover scraps ;)

My favorite use of leftover scraps is to turn little pieces of paper into banners. It is an easy way to make a fast card. As you can see, these leftover banners are from the same cards I made last week and the week before.. (blues are my favorite, hihi). The stamp I used is called "Herald Angel".

Supplies used:
Stamp: Herald Angel
Copics: B00, B000, T2, T1, T0, Y15, Y17
Paper: Bazzill white and white dotted
Dessinpapers: Echo Park (leftovers), paper from an old music book
Other: star dies, pearl maker blue, twine, black stabilo pen

High Hopes Stamps -- Merry Christmas

 Happy Saturday High Hopes fans.
I've been creating with this super sweet image from High Hopes  ...
I cut a couple tags out of kraft paper and glued them together for strength.  The image is coloured with Copic Markers and misted with a Tim Holtz shimmery  spray (called Heirloom Gold) .
I thought the music note pattern paper on the background was a fun touch.
Lots of white acrylic paint for a snowy look and some Christmas  twines too!
Thanks for peeking!

Twinkle All The Way

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

Thursday means the weekend is almost here and it's my turn to post a card for you.

Today I am sharing "Getting Spruced Up" and the sentiment "Twinkle All The Way" from High Hopes Stamps. This image just makes me smile - the first time I saw it I thought it looked like our penguin friend was doing a photo bomb but I think he is just getting ready to decorate his tree.

I used this month's challenge sketch for my card layout - but shhh - don't tell the boss I forgot to add my tag.. our secret okay? I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers and cut it out using a stitched oval die. I used a smaller oval die to cut out my sentiment. I chose my paper from an older Echo Park collection called Holly Jolly Christmas - I liked the non traditional colours in this paper pad.
To add some sparkle I added some star brads from my stash and I have a new addiction - Nuvo Crystal Drops. I added it in tiny drops to my corners and to the stars on the sentiment and to the trim on his hat.
Nuvo drops let you fill in spaces or make your own enamel dots in whatever size you want - how cool is that!

Christmas Love - High Hopes Stamps

Just peeking in with my Saturday  post.
I'm so in love with my High Hopes stamps♥♥♥
For this week I've been using the following ....
Mudzie and Chopper's Carolling found here!

I especially  {heart} this stamp as it features the super  sweet beaver and moose pal which totally has a Canadian  flare to the image.

The border of the image is stitched, white satin ribbon hot glued to the side of the card and a die cut heart was also added for a bit of Christmas Love!

I used a series of pattern papers that were
offered in a 6x6 booklet. The advantage to this is the colours  always coordinate so well
together. I added in the brown Kraft paper to break things up a bit

Thanks for stopping by, hope the rest of your weekend

is a crafty one♡

Naughty!

I had some fun this week making a card to share with you featuring an older High Hopes Stamp called "Mudzie's Predicament".

This stamp brought back some memories for me. I grew up in the middle (age wise) of two brothers. They often teamed up on me and convincing me to stick my tongue to the metal tobaggan we had at the time was no exception! I learned the hard way not to always listen to these two!!! lol

I coloured my stamp and then fussy cut it out leaving a thin white border. My sky was created with ink blending and the snow is dabs of white acrylic paint. The stamp is popped up with 3D foam pop dots for fun. A first for me - I ran some white card stock through an embossing folder and added some colour to it with ink. I also added colour to the tops of my snow banks. My card is finished off with a bow and some enamel dots.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Mudzie's Predicament (T031) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Udderly Fabulous

Hello High Hopes Fans!

I have a super cute card to share with you today using one of the newest images from High Hopes Stamps.

The patterned paper is The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.

Here is a closer look....
I stamped his face two times and popped out part of it.
That wasn't part of my original plan but I smeared his nose what I colored it so this was a great way to cover it up!

The image was colored with Prisma color pencil and blended with gamsol and blending stumps.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card where I stamped

With a new month also a new challenge begins and you can work (also) with a new sketch again this month:

Chill Out

Hi there, hope your enjoying  your Saturday! !
I've been creating some fun Wintery Tags!

Made with High Hopes Catching flakes found here!
High Hopes Chill Out found here!

We're getting close to the Snowy season in my neighbourhood.
I love snowstorms (providing I don't have to drive).
Snowy walks are my favorite and this gal is totally enjoying the snowfall :)
Haven't we all have done this before and maybe a snow angel or  two also?!!

I kept the colours really simply  in this design
 Blue and brown, that's it!
She's super sweet and those boots remind me of my favorite tan Cougar boots from the '80's do you remember them?

Stitches, snowflakes and white acrylic paint were added to the image. Copic markers numbers E30,E30,E35, BG70,

Thanks  for peeking!

Naughty List

I can't believe it's the first Thursday of November already! Have you started making your Christmas cards yet?

I have some done but when I saw this sentiment I knew I had to have it to use on a card for one my brothers. This is the first one I have used it on....I think you may just see it on a few of my Christmas cards this year. <wink>

I have also used an older High Hopes Stamp called "Santa's List".

A new month also means a new challenge and this month we also have a sketch to get your creative juices flowing. I have made this week's card using the sketch (below).

After colouring Santa and his list with alcohol markers I added some Stickles to the fur on his coat, hat and mitts and then cut him out with a stitched square die. I stamped my sentiment and coloured the words with Spectrum Sparkle pens - they are glittery but it's hard to see in the photo.
I cut out my tag and added a die cut word notes - cause Santa does keep notes..or so I'm told.........
All of these elements are added to patterned paper from Carta Bella. Some ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Santa's List (R154) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Naughty List (JJoo4) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
